19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Jesus lists the "ten commandments," but his list has only six, and the sixth is not one of the ten. The commandments given by Jesus are secular, not religious, in nature. Perhaps Jesus was a Secular Humanist.

The rich young ruler then walked away sad, because he was really in violation of the First commandment because money was his god.

The rich young ruler was demonstrating a self-righteousness and thought that he kept all of the commandments when he really couldn't.

My motivation for my behavior is based on my attempt to keep out of trouble, to be successful in my relationships with my wife and my children, and to make my life as honest as possible. By my understanging/definition of death, I do not expect to be aware after I die (within the next 30 years or so).

Notice, I don't ask these questions about you. Why not? I can learn truth from fools and I can learn nonsense from 'experts'. Every person has something of value to offer. One thing for certain though, anyone who can look at the galaxies through a telescope and who is convinced that they know the secret of the Universe is to me, a very gullable person. I have zero knowledge about Universal Cosmology and I am willing live with true questions instead of false answers.

   Yeshua Messiah said that if we look upon a woman to lust after her, we're guilty of having have committed adultery with her in our heart.
