If hundreds of millions of Catholics, Episcopalians, and others got it wrong for many, many years, is is not possible that your religious group also has it wrong?

In other words, who do you trust to interpret and to translate the original texts, and why do you trust them?

John 14:15-17 "If you love Me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask my Father, and He will give you another Helper (Holy Spirit), that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you."

This is what gives me the right to interpret YHWH's word, but it is not really me doing the interpreting. It is the Spiritof truth that is in me that interprets for me, which is something you do not understand Stu.

See my answer above, as the same applies here. If I put my faith in a name; Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist, I might agree with you. Since I do not have religion, but a relationship and am indwelt by the Spirit of truth (Holy Spirit), it is impossible for the Holy Spirit to be wrong.

Henry, it always goes nowhere fast with Stu. There are some things though that I at least need to try and answer because I am led to do so for the benefit of others.

The cart is before the horse. The belief is before the reading.

It should be the other way around. The Catholics, etc. were brainwashed way before they ever read the Bible. The same with you. It is just like the average taxpayer. They believed before they NEVER read the Code. If you would show them the Code, they would doubt you as you doubt me.

I wish you well. I also wish you the freedom from the religious beliefs equal to the freedom gained re: Traffic, IRS, the State, etc.

Really now, how so? how could they/we have been brainwashed about the content of the bible before reading it?

Of that, I can understand your desiring freedom from.....

religious beliefs
, but I have not read anything from you stating what the correct way is. Could you enlighten us as to what that might be?

I believed when I was shown in the Bible that I was a sinner destined for an eternity separated from YHWH by a dear friend. Had I read the whole Bible? No, not even close. Have I read it through now? Yes. Do I believe what it says? 100%. How do I know it to be true? The Spirit of truth (Holy Spirit). Do you think you can interpret better than the Holy Spirit? I think NOT. I am glad I have been brainwashed by YHWH. I wish all were.

Maybe he supposes that if he doesn't read it then, it doesn't apply to him?
