What Pisses Me Off

The first thing you see about voluntary "relief" for the "victims" of Katrina, is a concert.

What about the "church?" They have a lot of money, why don't they step in?

Henry,

That paintbrush of yours is mighty big there! There are a number of congregations pooling resources and manpower up here in Michigan to go down south as we post! Dont let that root of bitterness get a hold of you, God knows those who are truly His and they are acting accordingly!

God is IN CONTROL despite what BB or anyone else thinks. Many are the thoughts of men but it is the Lord that orders his footsteps!

Ok, I probably went about this the wrong way.

I still feel the same way about the institution called the church, but I'll stand down for now.

Bitterness is definitely not the issue in my picture.

But again, rather than explain, and open more cans of worms, I'll leave it alone.

HB,
I have started a fund for the refugees in Texas. I emailed our sister church and they will buy the supplies with the money we send. They are real close to the astro dome. I figured it was better than secular resources. our church needs something else to concentrate on instead of our pastor troubles. I think this will touch us all in some way.

Henry,

I believe I know where youre coming from concerning "the institution" The Ecclesia has nothing to do with that! That Keith Green song, "Asleep In The Light" comes to mind. Guess we need to keep our savor cuz if we lose it....we're good fer nuttin 'cept fer saltin' the walk on a icy winter day!

For those of the Ecclesia....we need to look REAL hard at II Cor 7:14....

2Ch 7:14 If MY PEOPLE, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

It aint the gubmint's fault or institutions fault.....we better fess up like Jonah had to in the midst of a storm.....IT'S OUR FAULT BECAUSE WE HAVENT LIVED UP TO THAT HIGH AND NOBLE CALLING WE HAVE BEEN CREATED FOR!!!

We are SALT and LIGHT in this kosmos and havent acted like it. Praying alone isnt going to cut it. We need to rend our hearts and not our garments...we need to turn from doing our stuff and figure out what HIS BUSINESS is and be about it. James 1:27 tells us what true religion is....

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

When all is said and done, it is the meek (remember the definition iamfree gave) that shall inherit the earth. It's time to let God arise from within our hearts and let His enemies be scattered!!! If Moses could stand before God and turn away His wrath with intercession (that dude was willing to taste death for that people!) how much more can we petition and plead before the Supreme Judge for this people. One blast from the nostrils of YHWH is more than a match for any HAARP enhanced storm.

In that sense I am an attorney......My first duty is to the Great King's bench and to His Law!!! And to "attorn" the estates of the kingdom of darkness over to the kingdom of light!!!! You can find my oath of office filed away in Psalms 110:4 SELAH!!!

Keith Green

Keith Green was a boat rocker.

You expect me to believe someone like that can be used of God?

Why, of course, I do.

Other than bitch and moan about what the "church" is or isn't doing...what, specifically, have YOU done for Katrina victims lately ?

In defense of the church I will say that my church is donating quite a bit to those that went through Katrina. In fact we give to the Southern Baptist Convention and they give 100% of what is donated toward food for relief unlike others that keep so much for administrative costs (their own pockets). In fact SBC is the second biggest giver. One of the problems in giving is how so many people are already strapped, but I can tell you that all that can be done is being done. Our church had a special meeting regarding this. Can I say that is true for all churches? No, but I can for mine.
