Ticket Slayer Win - Three Citations Dismissed
Hi Everyone,
Well my account wasn't activated when I really needed to ask questions on this forum, but it finally randomly got activated so I am here to tell you about my quasi-win.
I had three citations. Speeding, expired inspection and failure to report updated address on drivers license.
I used Ticket Slayer. I ran into the following hang ups
1) could not figure out what prosecuting person should stamp the do***ent. Went downtown, went to the precinct court house, finally bumped into the person who I had seen as the prosecutor when I came another day to scope out the court house and how it works. She said she had no stamp so I pressed her to sign the do***ents herself.
2) Court clerks were messing with my filings. I accidentally got them mixed up, so I went back up and said "i need to switch this out." So she brings it over and to my horror, she HAD NOT put the prosecutions copy in the prosecutions inbox like she said she would. I demanded politely to know what she thought she was doing and she said "I have to show this to my supervisor I've never seen anything like this." At this point I'm wondering why the heck she's reading it, she is just supposed to stamp sthe stupid thing and put it in the box and another copy with the case, right?
And as I walked in I heard another girl talking trash about me saying stuff like "he can't do that he's not an attorney." And I know they were talking about me because the envelope she was waggling was mine.
3) When I came to court day, and I had to somehow 'check in' the girl pressured me into admitting that I had gotten my inspection fixed within 10 days. I got a little chicken I admit so I said "ok I better take this one easy dismissal for only 12 bucks in case this doesn't work." I wish I hadn't. So I had that one dismissed and two cases left. In my limited understanding, I feel that this could have jeopardized my jurisdictional claims, but who knows.
I sat down and waited for an hour. In between recesses I was telling everyone I could talk to about the different concepts on fighting tickets and things.
Sometimes they call peoples names and they go up to the bench, sometimes they step outside.
Finally they call my name and instead of politely waiting for me the lady in the brown shirt just darts out the door so I Get up and chase her and once outside she says (like she had to force herself to speak) "the officer for your case is not here today. All your cases are dismissed." All the brown-shirted guys had been giving me really dirty looks because they had seen me several times there before filing stuff, and at least one of the brown-shirts had at one time taken me up to the right court clerk area and took my paper and had read it. They really don't like that stuff. However I don't know if they were giving me dirty looks the day of the court case because the knew what I had done or if it was because I was telling everyone how to challenge the radar ticket because the officers there were not proving anything, just giving emotional opinions that the radars were accurate. I felt hated!
The total was $425 dollars in tickets. It seemed weird that the officer wouldn't be there, but I was glad to have it dismissed. However, I am now wondering, was it ticket slayer or did the officer just not show up. Did they tell him not to show up?
Who knows? I really wish I had gotten to go toe to toe with the judge but I guess it was better this way. I will wait for the next ticket and maybe have another chance.
This occurred in Bexar County, TX Precinct 3.
