UCC-1-207 and State Police

Dec. 3, 2004 I was stoped by Mich. State Police for not wearing a seat belt, which I did have on but under my arm. The first thing he said was do you have a license, and may I see it. I gave him my license and he immediately noticed the "Without predjuice UCC 1-207". He ask what it meant and I told him I was reserving my Common Law Rights and all my rights as stated in the Michigan Constitution. He then ask for proof of Insurance which I gave him and he noticed that it was expired. I told him it is insured but I do not have proff of insurance on me it must be at home. He said I will be back in a min. He came back in about 10 min.after running my license and said "Just exactly does without predjuice mean". Is it that you know the Law but just disagree with it ? I said no I love the law, but it has something to do with presumption on the Courts part and it means I am declaring my Common Law Rights and the Rights as described in the Constitution of the State of Michigan. He gave me back my license and told me "Make sure you put that proof of Insurance in your truck when you get home". I said I will and he said have a good day. [ Now in Michigan there are heavey fines for both of these so called crimes. I think no seat belt is somewhere between $75 ti $100 and no proof of Insurance is around $300. There was a big stink about the no proof of Insurance deal but since the State is broke I am not sure what it is for sure.]

Way to handle yourself as a sovereign. This shows that there are different ways to handle these situations, and one can actually use them to educate folks, even if they are public servants who should already know!

Sounds like a success so I am moving it there.
