Equifax deletes Notice of Federal Tax Lien from credit report

Long time lurker, first time poster. I am happy to report that Equifax has deleted the Notice of Federal Tax Lien from my credit file. By using Jersee's methods, I was able to get this little success. I am still writing letters to TU and Experian, and will report if/when anything happens.

Keep up the good work!

Did you get the Notice removed from the County Recorder before doing this? Did you have any problems with them or with Equifax?

The removal of the Notice of Federal Tax Lien was from Equifax only. It took two or three letters to Equifax before deletion. The County Recorder is a different matter. Multnomah County in Oregon is one of the most difficult to work with and I have had no success at all with them.

sweed, does your county recorder have to have a bond for their position? If so, you can get copy of this from the public record. You can then threaten to sue to have their bond revoked for damaging you commercially where no lien exists.

I'm surprised that the CRA removed it as they normally just call up the county recorder to have them tell them over the phone that it is valid.

Congrats!

rushpat,

I am aware of using the bond of the county recorder as leverage.

I am working on a Title 42 suit that will name the County Recorder and the IRS Agent in their individual capacities.
