Then there is a legal obligation attached somehow to the moral obligation, or you would not be talking to a lawyer in a black robe.

he lied.

it's not based in law;

if you arent the father then it isnt by blood requirement;

and if you're being coerced and threatened it isnt by free-will.

none of the above.

That's an interesting opinion... if it is a "moral" obligation, there is nothing in the laws of man or any natural law which can dictate those morals to another. If I choose to be immoral, that is my concern and it's only my conscience which has to deal with it.

I can see and hear the replies now... "don't want the best for your children"... "don't you love them"... "don't you feel responsibility"... etc.
Those are questions that can be asked, and only the person being "immoral" can answer those... but none of them have any weight in a legal venue...
