27 deletions on CRA

Wow!& Twenty-seven deletions to my TransUnion CR, which I received today.& Now I want to know what/who they received verification/validation from for the remainder(5), right?& Especially since some of them(3) have been settled/etc.&Part of the agreement to Settle was a wipe on the CRAs.A fourth&I have a Certificate of Default/Dishonor for, and the last&says they have written off (and sold, I believe), the account.& (the D_A I am "corresponding" with.)& Another account is listed as a closed in 1998 account, paid as agreed while open.& Should this be gone?&

Also, a question, do we have some type of control over collection bureaus, etc pulling our credit reports?& There are six listed on my report!& That&annoys me!&

Okay now I have this info -- NEXT!

Thanks for all your help that contributes to my continued success!

Seeker,

Congrats! Keep up the good work and good luck on the remaining 5 records.

Hey seeker,

How many were credit cards? Have you attempted to get the cc's validated through the cc companies, or did the CRA just take them off anyway?

Re:27 deletions on CRA

Rushpat;

Seventeen were CC -- CRA just took them off.&Three(?) were the bank that updated a "loan" as of 1/2004 (closed two years ago); two were utilities that should never have been there;one was a former auto loan acct; one is one of the CC that we are currently attempting to dismiss in litigation (through a CD)(that should give me some power, shouldn't it?); a couple collection systems (why were they on there?).& Four of the five CC still listed under ADVERSE INFORMATION have a heading : PAID OFF and a date.& So this means? To me it means the account should be marked settled and closed.& NONE are marked closed, only paid off. hmm?

The "New Information Below" needs to be verified, as some of it is incorrect.& As above referenced.& Any suggestions on how to do that?& Correct wording to avoid dispute?

By my accounts and request, all but ONE CC is supposed to be closed.

Re:27 deletions on CRA

What do you mean when you say "...to dismiss in litigation (through a CD)"? What is a CD in this case?

I think 17 credit cards must be a record for anyone to have! I thought I had a bunch when I just had 8 (4 of which have been discharged with FRN's...)

I was curious though, the 17 that were removed, had you been battling them with VoD's, CPNs, requests for verification using the FDCPA before you wrote to the CRAs to verify them? Did you use similar wording to Jersee's requests?

Re:27 deletions on CRA

Actually, what I found was something that another member posted about ... the same card/issuer but slightly different numbers, different open dates -- very peculiar.& Many showed up that we had no knowledge of -- I think each time they sent an "offer" they opened an account.& Hence the hugh number.& We only ever used maybe four, five tops when we were in business.& Even our original mortgage company listed three accounts when there were only ever two!

Two cards went through the notarial protest/default process.& They were/are both in court now.& We have third party Default verification of their Dishonor to our presentment and subsequent offers to Cure.& We intend to move for dismissal.& If you have thoughts on this, I am open.

The third one was sold several times and is the topic of another post -- regarding lack of response to validation, but total ingnoral (is that a word?).&

Three were bargained with FRN's at .25 or less on the dollar.& This was before I even heard about the stuff you all have been doing.& I am a relative newbie.& I began studying this process in late January, I think.

The two that went to litigation were in my spouse's name as primary and they would not talk, verify, or even correspond.& Although they agreed to send written verification of proof, nothing ever came. There&were a LOT of missteps on their part in this mess, but we took the opportunity to "remedy our past mistakes", sent them the CA/VoD and gave them the opportunity to respond and cure.& They did nothing.& So we have the verified Dishonor/Default.& (One of these cards is now listed as "deleted")

When I asked the CRAs(only one, TransUnion,&has sent the "final" report so far) to validate, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would come back this "clean".& The ones that remain are "baddies" but I still have some work to do there.& I am sending a letter asking TU to provide their procedure and the names, etc of the validation.& I'll keep you posted.& I am not willing to accept what they have sent just yet.& After all, one of the cards still listed is in Dishonor by Default, another has marked the account paid, but never closed it as I requested, and two more are paid as we finally agreed.& So the game has not ended and the Fat Lady ain't sung.

You might want to look into UCC sections 3-501 - 3-505:

http://www.law.cornell.edu/ucc/3/article3.htm#s3-501

There's some good stuff there about dishonor that might help.
