"employer" listens to reason!!
My new boss is totally into trying to keep me on working despite my resistance to giving him my SS number and filling out a W4. He has offered a few options that his accountant has kind of poohooed more than once, such as subcontractor(doesn't qualify technically) or making me part owner and pay my LLC in quarterly dividends(I am not sure about that one).
But listen to this one: He suggested that he raise my payrate so that he can "legally" withhold at the highest rate and I still get the same pay!
The dilemma, is without a defined credit to send the money in for(No SS on file), what does he do with the $?
I suggested that he put it in a bank account or shoe box with my name on it. If the IRS comes asking about this particular expenditure, he'll have the money on hand to pay this nonSS kinda person.
I am no accountant, but am curious what is the worst case scenario here?
Perhaps in this rare case where a boss has recognized my primary source material(IRC) and sees that I don't qualify as a taxpayer, but isn't desirous to raise redflags, let's get creative here.
Thanks for the input, guys.
