JM,
Yes I have other things to send with the BoE to discharge. Send me an email and I will send you what I have. I have had success with it so far.

Received Notice of Levy
somehow the IRS thinks i "work" for the company my parents own...
i have to laugh because the PERSON they claim works for them doesn't.
and, technically, neither do i - i am not an employee of theirs, nor do i receive any paychecks.
i am compensated via food & such, but no directly-to-me "money."
ha!
and the ball keeps on rollin...

p.s. iamfreeru2 - 3/12 can't get here soon enough...sheesh...

ok, my folks and i have had a discussion relative to that alleged notice, and here are our options:
1. don't respond to it. it wasn't sent certified, and there appears to be no response mandated anywhere on the stuff.
2. send a letter stating "that person is not employed here."
3. send the attached. it is a modification of weiss' material (thanks w!), re-written from the "employer's" perspective querying the IRS as to the legitimacy of the notice per weiss' material.
my mom is loathe to "red flag" the business by doing option 3. can you say fear and intimidation? she's leaning to number 1.
what sayeth ya'll?

Jon,
Not responding would be a dishonor and I would not suggest that. If you respond with IRC you are saying that you are subject to it. This I would not do either, although is only my suggestion and you must do what you must do. By sending this I believe you are creating an argument (also a dishonor) and one that you will lose. Remember the IRS and the government have exclusive legislative jurisdiction in the District of Columbia. I am going to e-mail you a document that I want you to read before you make any decision on what to do. I would ask that you read it with an open mind. It may help you decide on your next course of action. It is 65 pages and was sent to me a few days ago. Many things I already knoew, but some I did not

so, to make sure i understand:
1. non-response is no good [this is my thinking as well, but i needed to post the option for feedback anyway], even though there appears to be no response required.
2. "not employed here" is OK.
3. asking for clarification of the IRC that the IRS is attempting to hold PEACEFUL VALLEY, INC., to is admitting to some sort of jurisdiction? correct me if i'm wrong, however, as PEACEFUL VALLEY, INC., is an S-Corp (creature of the STATE), isn't it already within the jurisdiction of the IRS? and, how can asking for clarification (not a denial!) be argumentative? (i think we've been down this road). btw, nowhere in that doc is a denial of compliance w/o asking for clarification. i guess you could say it is a form of VoD. also, how can asking them to comply with their own laws/rules be dishonorable/argumentative? aren't they "contractually" obligated to do so?
there was a case recently, microsoft as a matter of fact, wherein Eolas and MS were going at it over plug-in tech for browsers. MS initially lost, but appealed. the upper court ruled the judge in the lower court blatantly screwed up and awarded the appeal and remanded back to lower court for re-trial. if gov't can screw up, why can't the IRS?
at any rate, i look forward to your email as i know it'll be informative.
thank you for your response(s) so far!

not legal advice, just an opinion:
dont talk to an accountant about taxes. That is akin to asking Hitler about personnel managment.
He is part of the system and will give you an inside the box answer. If you want to learn the truth, you should spend some time (lots of time) on here reading. It has all been covered many, many, many times before.
Welcome to the forums and good luck on your quest.
