lol!

I guess this State requires vehicles to pay taxes as well! (wink)

"(b) Scope. - Only vehicles required to pay a tax under G.S. 20-87(1), (2), (4), (5), (6), and (7) and G.S. 20-88 shall be subject to the tax provided by this Article. Taxes shall be prorated in accordance with G.S. 20-95."

Sorry for the silliness, but it just gives me ridiculous mental images, like cars lining up at H&R Block to have their taxes done. hehe

Feel free to delete this silly post to save valuable space. Just thought someone else might see the slight humor in this.

On a more serious note, they say "pay" taxes. So taxes aren't discharged? They're "payed"?

Peace,

Re:lol!

Hi ya, GP!

Yeah, this sort of stuff falls under the, "Well, you know what we meant" line of defense, right? I.E., I love reading the Virginia Tax Commissioner's rulings. No matter what "protest" or question of law is brought before him, he always, always, always, finds a way to turn the whole thing around and always, always, always rules against the "taxpayer."

As I recently wrote to an agent acting on behalf of the Virginia Department of Taxation, "...minus the power to enforce, the&law is just words...."

So no matter how obviously ridiculous THEIR "interpretation" of things is, agents can, and always do, simply fall back on their power to enforce their "interpretation" upon the rest of us.

Years ago, in a debate about Martial Art philosophy, one chap accused me of (get ready), playing "semantical word games."

Now, I'm gonna go ask my pick-up when it opened a checking acount.....

Re:lol!

Well as you may know by now, BB does things for a reason. Maybe one should look up the definition of vehicle. This may help one look past the obvious meaning of the word, into a more deeper meaning of what the code is trying to say. Just a thought

Re:lol!

This explains a lot.& Sometimes when I&could have sworn that I left money in my car, I can't find it later.& My care must have taken it to pay it's taxes.& Maybe a car is a "person" too.

Thanks for the good post goldphoenix.
