My tax bill is no longer!!!

I actually won one with the IRS and have it in writing damn I am tickled. I may have gotten someone who understands what the N and the O mean.

They were coming after me for taxes in 2002 which I filed and had taken my retirement out early for hardship and as I did my taxes I did not owe anything. They came back after me for 1,375.00 and I sent them a simple package of about 50 pages telling them why they will not see the money from me and to stand in line with the rest of the creditors. I sent them all information and more than they asked for just to keep them busy awhile and it worked and of course I cannot afford to pay anyway and if they would have read the tax return they would have seen why. I told them I never ever owed them anything. I also must say this is a real win for me for I did expect a fight. Sad thing is the people who will see one of those letters and just try to pay them and do not owe them a darn thing and never did.

So, you convinced the IRS you are a broke loser whose tax debt is more trouble than it's worth to collect. SWEET VICTORY!

Er, not really. You told us what you said to the IRS... you didn't exactly tell us how the IRS RESPONDED to what you said. Somehow I have the feeling that TELLING the IRS "I don't owe you any money" or "I can't pay" is not enough to make your tax bill to be "no more".

If you don't believe me, wait till they respond...

I received a letter telling me if I recieve a tax bill to collect the money than I am just to dispose of it. I was told Thank You for sending us your information and you owe nothing at this time. PERIOD I hid nothing in my statement. Look I see people fighting IRS everyday and they just don't seem to have any common sense when you deal with them and they fight for everything. I was feeling lucky I got out of something without a big fight. Sorry for the bother.
