Assuming Austin=Texas I will concede that it was admitted to the union differently, but presently it is no different than any of the other corporate states. Its de jure status may take a different form, but the function is the same. If you can get State Dept. tags go for it, but I would submit that the process would be similar.

Your assumption that Austin=Texas is correct.
My apologies for lack of clarification.
Thank you for your response gldskr.
It would seem I've more studying to do.

Without Prejudice.
IMHO not at all likely you'll get US State Dept. tags with that letter. You arent showing any reason for them to give you those plates or why you cant or ought not have tags from State of Texas, U.S. Said State of Texas probably even has EXEMPT plates. Now a foreign diplomat in Austin, Texas or the like perhaps could register per the U.S. Department of State's policies.

In order to get diplomatic plates, you would have to have, and have to present credentials from a government that the US State department recognizes and has diplomatic relations with. It would also require that you be a citizen of said government.

The state plates you see issued to Consuls, honorary or otherwise, require the same paperwork, except presented to and accepted by the state in question, and approved by the State Department. The only difference is that with Consuls, they can be appointed by the foreign government, but it still requires approval by the State Department.

Nice fantasy, but not going to happen.

I conditionally accept your statement that this is a "Nice fantasy, but not going to happen" upon proof of claim that there are NOT men and/or women who ARE using these tags.
Failure to provide proof of claim and it shall be deemed that you are a woftam.
