Hey Rushpat, Kitchie, or whoever---
Forgive my ignorance, but is there a book or other in depth resource where I can learn about filing a UCC-1 and freeing myself from automotive bondage?

Thanks Kitchie. Is there a topic about helpful books/tapes ? If not, there should be. My main roadblock is not knowing where to look for/learn about all these things. Hearing success stories doesn't really provide a full understanding.

Peace and first greeting in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Sixthbeast, I'm sorry for your momentary loss of physical freedom. May the Lord turn the experience in to a rich blessing for you.
KITCHIE <--- All caps? Are you going by a fiction / corporation here? haha
Thanks for sharing your experience too.
Has anyone considered asking a police officer what he would do if he/she saw "such and such" on a motor carriage traveling on the highway?
Try taking your plates off, keep them in your vehicle and put on, "Not For Hire" and see if you get stopped. Or just cover the plate with something that says, "Not For Hire".
I also recommend to post "Not Abandoned (Phone number optional)". For a while, I had a vehicle parked on private property in a commercial/business district that I didn't move often. It got one of those bright orange stickers, "WARNING" that my vehicle could be towed.
I peeled and scraped the sticker off and then put a note in the window, "This vehicle is not abandoned - [phone number]". After that I never received such notice.
I imagine for those that don't use plates, you may have more frequent difficulties dealing with being towed after parking in certain locations. If you post notice, "Not Abandoned" in the window, make sure you don't use the word "vehicle".
Bless you MORE!

glad to see that you are not being hassled, however I doubt that the stoopid policeman behind you knows ANYTHING AT ALL about your right to travel, UCC law, private vs commercial vehicles, passengers vs guests, etc. Hell, they dont know the 'popular' laws half the time...you know....the ones about speeding and running redlights and rules for using a radar gun, etc..the ones that apply to commercial drivers....
It seems to me that the weak link in the chain will always be one of two things...the uneducated government servant (this includes clerks, cops, lawyers, judges, accountants, etc.) becuase they are doing their job or what they are told or what they learned in college, etc and they are right and you are wrong OR it will be the person who knows they are right, may not know all the ins and outs of the system or not be willing to fight in a particular case and they will say screw it, i'm not going to jail for that....where do i sign..
I believe that I have a right to travel in a privately owned car or truck, a conveyance of the modern day without a license, insurance or plates.... Do i expect the cops and judges and other members of the system to acknowledge this or go along with it?? Of course not, I am screwing up their poker game...

What it really means is you now have a tyranny government. The more B/S they create, the more powers they possess. It's all about greed, power, and more and more etc.. money. Keep the masses as slaves.

You know, a lot of this sounds like stupid ideas and maybe it is. I think the government believes that they have instilled enough fear in the people that they wouldn't dare try any alternative methods. In a way it seems like for many many years we have all been dooped into believing what the government was saying was the only thing to do, even though we couldn't find the reasoning behind it. Now, just maybe it's our turn to confuse the hell out of them and beat them at their silly little game. I think by the police not knowing how to react to these experiments they are afraid of the consequences they might face if they don't do the right thing and that is to LEAVE THE HELL OUT OF US ALONE.
Nice going guys and gals, I applaud every thing you attempt. You'll always have the Quatloo's idiots saying this is just another idiotic scheme these moron's are try ing to pull over. I say go for what you believe in. This is the only way real changes occur, by trial and error. You'll always have someone say, I told you it wouldn't work didn't I? It's amazing how fast people will jump on the bandwagon at someone else's expense. I don't believe in harming anyone but on the other hand just leave me the hell alone if I haven't caused injury or harm to property.

Without Prejudice.
I would avoid having State tags in a car while going plateless or having alternative tags (i.e. i'd leave them at home). It might be likely that you'd get arrested and/or the car towed for hiding the plates. That is: hiding them under a mat looks like you are concealing something. I wouldn't suggest straddling the fence with this. One should really a lot of faith and/or comprehension of what one is doing.
A bumper sticker or sign on the rear that says: "Private. Not for hire." is not a bad idea.

Some Questions or new ideas
Next time anyone is in an accident why not sue the state for their car that hit you? They claim it's their car. Why not admit in court you are driving a state vehicle and they are liable for the damages. Turn it around on them. Maybe a sign that says: This vehicle is owned by This State please sent any tickets to DMV at this address. I am just the State's Driver. I think the State DL proves that.
When registering a vehicle with any State maybe give them a letter saying: By registering this vehicle with this State, I do hereby give this State a superior security interest in this vehicle. I give this State superior ownership of this vehicle over mine. Since this vehicle is no longer only mine this State agrees to total liability when I am driving the vehicle because I am licensed to drive this vehicle by this State.
Also maybe send the DMV a note like this:
I do not give the DEPT. OF MOTOR VEHICLES and/or this State any power of attorney over any of the said vehicles of Dillon Hunt when or by Registering any of my vehicles or cars. I do not consent to hold this State harmless for any type of incidents/accidents . I revoke any power of attorney over any of the said vehicles or cars of Dillon Hunt. I do not admit to being a alien individual and DO NOT consent to any CONSTRUCTIVE method of service by any attorney general and/or any other agent of any state, for using the highways and/or facilities that belong to the People within that state. I do not admit to being a managing agent, a director, officer, and/or a designated agent in any corporation's Application for a charter or for a license to do business within this state or any other state. I am not a State Employee.
I like the idea of not for hire sign on vehicle.
Any comments or new ideas would be appreciated.
Thank Dillon
