The IRS must be sent a request to verify the alleged debt under FDCPA.

Try it... you might be surprised at the results.

Re:How Can One Travel Outside The Country!

Hi Ice:& This is Shamaryah.& I finally have a few minutes to get on and actually participate on the forum.& My question is this: Is there a form for a request for verification of &alleged debt or just put together a letter requesting information.& Or does this come under freedom of information?& Where would I find such a form, if one exists.& Thanks.& Have a great day.

I would think that you could treat the IRS as any other 'collection' agency... that is what they are!!

Whatever "verification" letter you are using would work just as well with the IRS as it does with any other "company".

If anyone has anything that could be used as a "template"... that would be a welcome addition to the downloads section.

IRS still hassling?

The original post was in late 2004. Has anybody heard in the last few months whether you can get accepted for a passport if you still have "issues" with the agency?
