do i need a bill of sale

I bought a used truck. I didnt register it, and I am removing the plates, stickers, etc, and I travel without a license.

Do i need a bill of sale to prove its mine? Or, is the burden of proof whoever claims it isn't mine?

After all, I don't have a bill of sale for my bike, my watch, my shoes, my clothes etc.

And really cops can't even make the claim of a stolen vehicle unless there is a claim by an injured party, right?

The reason I'm asking is that I forgot to get a bill of sale when I bought my used truck. The owner prolly expected i'd send in the transfer of title and get it registered and stuff.

I'd contact the previous owner and get the bill of sale regardless. This action may make things a little easier for you later down the line. But it all may depend on how steep of a ridge you are inclined to climb. It does appear that you would be putting yourself in a better position if you had it.

Indeed get a bill of sale, then attach it to your affidavit of the revocation of the trust.
