Red face Ssn Protest On New Dl's

I was recently at the SOS a few weeks ago, I live in Michigan. One of the requirements is to give your SSN number on the application form for a new DL. Now I recently obtained a passport without an SSN, I just wrote "Religious Objector". I know withdrawing from the system can be a touchy thing, but what does one do if they actually don't have an SSN? Can state government force you to go get one to even apply for a DL? I wouldn't want just any cop who stopped me to be able to "view" all my pertinent credit info, among other private info as well. I know applying for this license actually would entitle me to lifelong "no reservation needed" in various luxurious habitats, and various labels, such as "REPEAT OFFENDER". We should all as a whole population protest this controlling regulation over our lives and property!!! I drove for three years starting from the age of 18 until I was 21 with no license. I was never stopped, etc. Two weeks after I obtained one because an older and wiser "adult" told me I had to have one, I was stopped, received my first ticket. Yeah, an introduction into a life of crime!!!

Red face

Hakeem, what do you mean you use one for commerce only? What did you say? On the passport as far as I know, they didn't put in a number, there's no way of knowing if they just put in 0's. I know that it's a big mistake if you get taken to jail to offer your SSN to a cop because they will put your crime right on your credit report, including a fine amount, especially if you do not pay. That is one reason you don't want that on a DL, because with employers doing random background checks on prospective employees, and even long time employees, just to keep watch on everyone. It's so easy now, no privacy for anyone. I think you can file some kind of complaint or suit if pressed to give SSN for employment for the reason of doing the routine background check, especially jobs that are not "high security risks".
