non assumpsit?

On family guardian's site, they have a word list and the alternatives you should use.

They say when you get a traffic citation, you should sign it "non assumpsit" then approach the court within 3 days to ask if the plan on pursuing prosecution. When they say yes, ask them to produce an injured party and they cannot, thus causing them to abandon pursuit.

Anyone know anything aobut this?

I posted this same question over there, but their board is not rocking like this one does.

Thanks

Re:non assumpsit?

I've never heard of this, but it has certainly got me thinking.& Basically, by doing this, it seems you are giving notice to the court that you are refusing to become liable, or undertaking to pay or promise to pay this debt that the officer is creating by issuing the ticket,&by way of attempting to&create funds in the form of the negotiable instrument, that is, the ticket itself.& However, I would be wary to use this when transacting with the judge, b/c the word assumpsit is not simple by any means.& Unless you could well articulate yourself by use of this word, you may be digging a hole for yourself.& This theory does seem promising for anyone who wants to follow up with this.

Oh, but I would still write "all rights reserved" or some sort in addition to use of "non assumpsit" if I were to do so.

Re:non assumpsit?

The actual signatory is " non-assumpsit to the contents of this document".

In onter words, I do not contract via this instrument.

I am sure that the ALL RIGHTS RESERVED UCC1-207 would be a healthy addition to the signature as well.
