I have a little story to tell you about a traffic stop in Reno Nevada. As several of you know I do not have license plates and registration for my auto. I still have the plate I made that says Nevada Registered No. 2003126894-1 and PRIVATE NOT FOR HIRE. Here is my story and I had a witness this time.

RENO TRAFFIC STOP 05

The date was August 15, 2005, the weather was calm, the temperature about 92 degrees and the skies were blue. The place, Sierra Street Reno Nevada downtown where the casinos are. The time was 1305. The police in that area are real hard asses and they will write you up for anything they can. The following is the story of the person involved in the stop.

I was traveling south on Sierra Street with my friend Greg and I noticed a motorcycle officer in the center lane slowly driving by checking for registration. When he came to my car we were at a red light and when the light changed to proceed he got behind me and turned his lights on. So I drove to get off the main street and as I did he sounded his little horn. I pulled around the corner stopped and turned off the motor.

The officer came up to the car and said he stopped me because of license plate and registration on my car. He said “Was that issued to you by Department of Motor Vehicles?” I said “Oh no they only issue license plates for people in commerce!” He looked at me kind of funny and asked me for my Driver License. I said “Gee I don’t have it with me because I am not doing any commercial driving today and this is the automobile I do my personal business in.” So he says do you have any ID? And I said “Yes, here is a copy of my birth certificate.” He says do you have any ID with your picture on it?” I said “Gee I thought I had my Costco Card with me but its at home too.” (And I really did say “gee.”) So he goes back to his motorcycle and in the mean time I remember that I have a pix ID I made so I gave him that. He took the card and after he called the info in he came back and said “I don’t need this.”

So when he was asking me about an ID he was standing at my windshield. In the middle of my windshield it says “In my opinion Judge Fidel Salcido is an *******! And he keeps glancing at it. Me, I didn’t even notice him looking at it.

So he comes back after checking out my “papers” and says “So you don’t believe you need a Driver’s License is that right?” I said “ Well not today because I am not doing any commercial business.” Oh so then you have a Driver’s License” I said “Yes, but I signed it under duress and it says so in front of my signature.” He says “So why do you have a Driver’s License if you don’t think you need one?” Well I do have one but I left it at home it’s on the kitchen sink and he says Look I am not arguing with you and I haven’t said you’re getting a ticket. And I say “Well I am not arguing either.” And he askes me again if I believe in a Driver License and I said, “Well if I have to do any commercial driving then it good for me to have one, But so far I don’t do commercial driving.” He says “You’re a constitutionalist aren’t you.” I said “Oh well aren’t you? It was written for you ya know.” He says “And what about insurance you don’t believe in insurance either?” I said “Well in this case I agree with insurance, because there is a lien on it and the lien holder requires that I have insurance to protect his investment.” Then the officer says “Well don’t the think the lien holder would want you to register the car too?” I said “Gee, I can’t think of any benefit to the lien holder whether the car is registered or not so, (pause) no, the lien hold has no interest in that.”

Then he says “Well I could arrest you… And I could write you a citation but you probably wouldn’t sign it and then I would have to arrest you, and I don’t feel like taking you to jail so just get out of here.” I said “Thank You.” And when I drove off (laughing really really hard with my “guest”) I flashed on the fact that the cop was reading my bumper sticker about Judge Salcido being an ******* we laughed even harder!!!!!!

My friend Greg said after he discovered he had no jurisdiction to stop me, he was trying to get me to argue right to travel and constitutional rights. I just kept the whole conversation in commerce and was very friendly and smiling and absolutely NOT intimidated. The end result…no ticket no arrest and no hassle.

kitchie those are the stories i love to hear, on a side note lets say he did arrest you since there is no law that you have to have a licence what would they charge you with or when they threaten arrest is it just all smoke and mirrors.

Happen a week ago my case he claim i was speeding 65 in 55.

He pulls me over. Do you know why I pulled you over. I say No(and nothing else). He said you were speeding. I: so you say. Cop: yeah speed limit says 55 you were going 65. I look at him like I was confuse just to mess with him. COP: look I dont have time for games give me your Driver liscense. I gave it to him he goes back, 10mins later and say look Im not going to give you a ticket this time but next time I will. Here is why he change his mind. People like me they dont want us in court or near the blind sheep in court. Once you know the system thanks to TS and you GUys. You are label. I will reenact it I think it went this way in his car...... O.K. Im the cop.... let me type mr Sittons ssn# in ok........waiting.. Hmmm picture of liscense show up.....Hmmm Ucc 1-308..........Hmmm(reading record) hmm........seems he was stop by Officer **** 8 months ago CA decide drop charges.......HMMM Uh 234 for too BAse patch me to supervisor.. Supervisor go head. Hey I have a speeder but his liscense say UCC 1-308 what do that mean.... Supervisor....Oh get out of there now repeat leave him alone he's one of those constitu uh you know what I mean. Go catch some one esle

Hey thank you HB!! I am just having so much fun with this... Occasionally I hear of some of my friends who get tickets for expired registration or no plates and my reaction is "Oh they still do that?"

Now on September 3rd I drove my friend to burning man. Along the way she had a couple of beers and had to pee. I watched for traffic and soon a car was coming, so I said car coming. Well it turned out to be NHP. So I rolled my window down, turned off the car and was ready for him to pull in behind me.

He pulled up along side of me (lights on) and asked "Is everything ok?" I said yes my friend was just feeling a little sick." He said just want to be sure everything is OK. And off he went. No fuss no muss!!

I am gonna catch up to Ralph Winterood if this keeps up.Again on the same highway same scenario.Except im going south fuzz be going north.Two cops, normal sized cop asks for insurence i say am i under arrest? small says no.Small asks again for insurence, i say am i free to go?small says no,i am about to deliver punch line for assistance of council, i look to look to smalls left and see huge roid over dosed robocop,he looks like he heard this before and wants to tazer me,in those brief seconds i rationalize, i can't tell the boss im going to be taking the day off cause the terminator tazered me so i give the small cop the insurence. Robocop tells me to remove expired registration under neath valid registration onthe windshield.After trying to bait me to admit i was speeding,Master and blaster retreat to squad car.After about 5 minutes i head toward their squad car and ask them which sticker i should remove.I asked so the cop car audio would pick up that he told me to remove it.I got my craftsman screwdriver and scratched it off.I again headed toward them forgeting the craftsman was in my hand.Once i get within two feet of robo he tells me to put the screwdriver in the car.I put it back go back about 2 feet from robo and ask him how he determined my speed after him giving me vague answers,i said was it with a machine he said yes,i ask to look at the reading he says no it dosen't matter. I go to put my hands in my
pocket and he tells me to keep my hands where he can see them and tells me to move two feet off the road which i was already 10 ft off the road.I ask robo are you training this guy,he says yes.I ask are you guys having trouble with people,he says no.I said i gave you my drivers license you didn't pull up any assault arrests at all. He said no.Robo was cagy he had his back to the cop camera talking politely but looking at me as if he wants to kill me more with each question.He gave me the ticket i said to them i have to look at this i really don't want to sign it.I signed my name and printed under duress next to my signature, i asked him which court he told me the court. I said thats a justice o peace court not a court of record.I said have a nice day and took my ticket and left. Immediately i called the state police barracks and asked to speak to the boss.Boss was not in may be in later.Two calls and 6 hours later the boss calls,i tell him that i was in fear for my life at that traffic stop,
i told him the guy was overdoing it verbally bulling me around trying to impress the rookie,i told him he forced me to remove the sticker, the boss said he didn't agree with him making me remove the sticker and would talk to robo about this.I told him this wasn't my first traffic stop and it was only the 2nd time i ever called a barracks to complain,( the other was a jersy cop who covered his gun as if ready to draw just because i asked him what the violation was.)Does anyone know if signing under duress does anything for me.

If someone scribbled on a contract under duress is it a signature?

The ideal scenario is to give notice of the same when "scribbling."



Then, there is no argument to prove the same, since notice gives a duty of response or acceptance.
