How do I avoid registering my car?

Here's the deal:

I'm gonna be buying a used car soon, for my job, and I want to avoid registering it. What's the best way? Do I just not submit the transfer information, or do I take any kind of positive action?

How do I avoid registering my car?

not that i'm any expert on the subject, but given the little i know, 'twould be a battle to avoid registering the vehicle as the state already has the MSO and isn't likely to give it up...

g'luck though!

How do I avoid registering my car?

[color=black][b]Weasel, I was contemplating that earlier this year. The trouble is that the insurance companies are in privity with each state. So even if you beat the DMV and legally avoid registration, you still would want to be insured, which you wouldn't be able to do because of the ******uous relationship between the state & the insurance companies. We've heard it over & over again : PICK YOUR BATTLES WISELY. If you currently are battling other entities, this situation could really pile up.

you could self-insure if you have the wherewithall to do so, and also could use trust structures to avoid complications...

How do I avoid registering my car?

There are a few things to try:

1) Buy a car with a salvage title. Apparently, these might not be on file with the state DMV anymore...?

2) Try to buy from across state lines...?

3) Get one of those trucks with the bed removed, as this makes it a special purpose vehicle, then never register it. Might only work for a new truck.

Or, you could look into the information I found on a commonlawvenue website. The thread for this is here:

It appears that some of this info was shuffled or removed from the website, but I found it in here originally:

I've also been talking to some people who are "in the know" about such things and this is where I've gotten so far:

 1. Once registered, you will never get the original MSO/MCO back from the DMV (only a copy). However, there IS a procedure for cancelling registration so that when they look up your car it will show as cancelled (or not show up at all).
 2. If you buy a car new from a dealership, you can tell the dealer that you are immediately exporting the vehicle to a foreign jurisdiction and will need the MSO/MCO (you can even sometimes do this if you are financing). The dealer may make you promise (or even sign something to the effect) that you will register the car as soon as you get there. From thee you can use the MSO in lieu of "registration"

Thanks for the link Rushpat.

Truth, does the "privatizing your car" process compare to what you know about cancelling your registration?

As far as insurance, there's two states that don't require it. And I'll just 'self insure' anyway. WHat do you know about putting up a bond?

How do I avoid registering my car?

Hello Everyone!

I am new to the site and Not new to this research.

My car is not registered and has no license plates. I have been stopped 2 times by Nevada HP and followed 4 times by sparks police and followed twice by the Sheriff.

Highway Patrol told me to have a nice day.

I have a tag in my window that resembles a License plate .

It says on the 1st line centered : NEVADA

2nd Line: REGISTERED NO.

3rd line: 123456789

4th line: PRIVATE NOT FOR HIRE

The registered no is the certified no on my UCC FS from the SOS

I was stopped for speeding 70 in 55 zone, no license plates no registration no seatbelt. Nice police man said

"slow daw and get there safely"

Kitchie

rushpat is 100% correct. If you get something older, you can junk it, and get the junked Certificate, then do whatever you want with the vehilcle...make your own license plate "Don't tread on me", or something else they won't like... ;P

How do I avoid registering my car?

I posted some information under ID how to get a lawful one, about the auto bond. You don't need to have the car registered to get the bond and it is accepted by the states as lawful coverage. Its cheap too!
