Sj,Ice and mods et al...what do you think of this

i think it would be a great idea if we had a spot on the board where we could challange each other to do battle AS IF in court some one on the board would give the ticket and one of the mods would ACT LIKE judges appoint a d/a *no thats not dumb as* either) we would learn more by doin then just talkin bout it and the newbies would get a chance to see what paperwork should look like. of course as its my idea i would be the first VICTOM and let yall try to beat up on me in PLAY TRAFFIC COURT...whadda ya think? if nothin else it would be great fun and afterwards we can brake down our thoughts on how and y we put the paperwork together that way etc. take questions and stuff.............AND all paperwork MUST be their own work no using 2nd or 3rd party work like ticket slayer and stuff like that. we have to research and learn on our own first.

I believe that a role play forum such as that would have to be carefully moderated in order that people don't post irrelevant threads which have nothing to do w/role play.

So we should have
Traffic Court - speeding, seatbelt, DUI, etc . . .

Family Court - Child support, DFS, Divorce, etc . .

Banking - Mortgage, credit card, autos, etc . .

I think that'd be addressed on ventrilo (Live voice chat)

im usin a backup box and it doesnt have a sound card, untill i rebuild my primary server. my network was shot to **** some 3 wks ago erm what was the question again (lol)

it could be done, the players would be chosen and no one but them could post to that forum that way we all could see the chain of events and yes different divisions just like the real thing.

Sounds like fun, but who will moderate and what are the rules. I for one would not have the time to closely moderate such a debate at this time. But I think it is a good idea and would like to see it happen.

if i can turn to the mods here for pointers and stuff, i will try to mod the challange forurm, all rules are as follows:

all judges will play that role for 2wks: reason, to really get the feel for whats going on in a real judges head to figga out how they move and be able to counter that move in the future.

DA/PA will be changed with the case as in real life (i dont know bout yours but the ones here act REALLY crappy. like they look down on or at you. and yes you get an Asst DA/PA.

cops: anyone can b e a cop and no u dont get a gun or badge either.

clerks we wont need no clerk.

now how this can go is the cop/BANK/CHILD SUPPORT WORKER will send the victem a ticket = post a note the att on the note is the scanned ticket its a real ticket from where ever they are to him that he/she has a ticket for so an so for court. AFTER one has successfuly been through traffic court can he or she advance to a higher court having learned the ropes so to speak in T/c. state workers are to find the tickets for the state the victem is in ex: i live in main, it must be a ticket from main, no other state unless the vic was traveling out of state at the time of the stop.

each div is a different area in the challenge forum, and while all can read none but the players can post (sorry hb, voice chat would go to fast and some ppl may not get enough to learn sides, not everyone has a sound card yet...)areas like banking/traffic/child supp/other listed by DIVISON.

traffic of course is DIV 101

for DFS actions they will be held in DIV 202 of THE COURT OF THE FORUM OF SUI JURIS(lol not you Sj)hahahaha all actions will be brought in a timely mannor and blah blah blah

banking actions will be held in DIV 303 of THE THE COURT OF THE FORUM OF SUI JURIS

WINNERS could get some kinda icon or something.

cops: those playin the role of cop must make sure the person has (a play)dl, address and all other info needed will will use call signes for names EX: Sui Juris is now his name SUI JURIS at 1313 mocking bird lane etc

all players MUST do their own paperwork no CHEATING NO using any service work like ticket slayer and the like. players can work together if they like. fines can range from gettin dogged to being banned from the board for a weekend

pre trial conference:

all players will attend a pre trial conference to make sure they have the time to play that week. all players must respond DAILY anytime is fine but daily. RULES OF COURT of your state will be used as will statutes so find them and give the link to all playin in that trial. IT IS UP TO THE PLAYERS TO MAKE SURE THE JUDGES AND DA/PA'S HAVE THE RULES FOR THEIR STATE!!! NO EXCEPTION!!!

pre trial motions:

all motions must be of the quailty that you coud print them out and take them to a real court, and expect to win.

all players will submit pretrial motions for everything they can think of about the matter (so stay on POINT!!!) HORSE**** of any kind will be treated as if by a real judge and santions will be applied!! motions will be read mon/tue, with trial on wed night thurs/fri with court on sat. questions from the gallary will be posted in the room marked QUESTIONS about case ??? then motions on friday and sat with court on sunday night so make sure you attend your court date there is no denovo the ruling of the court can only be overturned by one of the mods and myself in agreement. or if i am the judge by two mods.

this is a ruff draft of it but i think it will work, with changes along the way of course. if its ok with you all ill post a general notice of the new forum after you all have looked this draft over.

I think we have finally found a usefull spot for Judge Roy Bean.He should be Judge for the life of the forum.He would do like most real Judges pound his chest and tell you how your arguments are without merit( in judgespeak YOUR STUPID)or I decide the law the constitution does not apply to(fill in the blank.Perhaps a Judge Roy Bean doll that says the same.

bashing is not accepted, JRB has a place here if its nothing but to cause one to stop and think this thing through. as stated HORSE**** OF ANYKIND... if you have nothing positive to say then say nothing.

JRB isn't too far off often in his responses that I have experienced in the courtroom. if I am not prepared for THAT kind of response, I fail...even if the judge was making the error.

EXample:
Conflict of interest topic:
Me: Do you, the cop, and you, the judge, both work for the same employer
Judge: Mr. Scott, there are three branches of government. Perhaps you recall this from Jr. High government class.......thus, NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST!
Me: Duh(might as well have been my response) when I should have said, "Thank you for that government lesson. Now can you please tell me how many Alaska State Treasuries exist in this fair State?

Thus, a real judge needs to give us what some of us have learned to expect.
