Why not be explicit with the agent and say

"I am one of the sovereigns of x (name your home state here)
"I am not conducting commerce and you have stopped me for
a purpose unrelated to safety.

"Goodbye."

how's that?

Apparently there is no law requiring people in their private capacity traveling the public roads have registration and license plates. Here in Nevada it is $250 plus $50 per day for every day your "motor vehicle" is not licensed and registered.

Wrong.

Nevada Revised Statutes:
Sec. 483.20 ... a person shall not drive any motor vehicle upon a highway in this state unless such person has a valid license as a driver .....

Sec. 483.447 A person who does not hold a valid license issued by this state or any other state and who operates a vehicle in this state shall be deemed to have future driving privileges that may be suspended if the person is convicted of any traffic offense in this state. [ In other words, if you get into trouble when driving without a license, your ability to get a license may be reduced as a result. ]

Sec. 483.550 It is unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle upon a public street or highway in this state without being the holder of a valid driver's license. ....

Sec. 483.560 .... any person who drives a motor vehicle on a highway ... at a time when his driver's license has been cancelled, revoked or suspended is guilty of a misdemeanor.
[ ... and additional provisions for imprisonment if the driving was done while the license was revoked or cancelled because of serious offenses, such as vehicular manslaughter ]

and there are other sections to similar effect.

If I were a cop, I'd plant my motorcycle at the end of your street all day every day; you'd give me such a dependable string of convictions that I'd surely get promoted.

Very not good. This looks too much like the Kehoe brothers.

The law in every state requires a motorist to present his DL when asked by a cop. Pulling a stunt like this can escalate beyond a mere traffic offense and turn into obstruction of law enforcement or something similar. If you're gonna do this to a policeman, be sure to have with you the phone number of a bailbondsman. And your toothbrush.

SHOONRA,

First I am not a PERSON and I do not DRIVE a MOTOR VEHICLE. I rarely have my dl with me. The last 4 stops no DL, alternative ID instead.

Apparently your reading skills are lacking so here it is again.

Went to court on no DL, proof of insurance and no seatbelt. Mind you I was not cited for no plates and registration. After trial in court... case DISMISSED.

Spoke with 6 different officers since then. Told them I am not in commerce and I NEVER ARGUED.

So plez come sit at the end of my road. When your bosses fire you for wasting tax payor money I'll be there to wish you good luck.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Kitchie

Shoonra, you sure are good at cutting and pasting statutes, but you don't have a clue as to the importance of the meaning of words, do you? Do you not realize by now that EVERY word in law has a very specific and exact meaning? Have you every heard of the void for vagueness doctrine? I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. If you've ever read any of the famous "right to travel cases", you'd have a different opinion. Hey, what is your moniker over at quatloos? I want to read some of your posts.
