For Shoonra, UGA, JRB, , etc . . .
Is this the violence which you guys equate with justice, good faith, and fairness?
http://www.insideedition.com/ourstor...x?storyi\d=182
You guys are way out of your minds for even thinking that there is a shred of justice in this action
Quote:
Getting pulled over by the police late at night can be a very scary experience, especially if it's unclear whether those flashing lights belong to a real cop. Betty Golden, a 69-year-old grandmother of eight, says she followed the advice she had heard in news reports -- she acknowledged the police, but did not pull over till she thought it was safe. However,
it's that same advice that got the grandmother into a heap of trouble. Not only was she pulled over, she was even charged with a crime!
Betty talked with INSIDE EDITION senior correspondent, Matt Meagher. "I'm scared, just like I was scared the night that I was stopped," Betty
says.
Her nightmare began on this lonely road in Centerville, Ga., as she was driving home late at night from the supermarket. She saw blue lights flashing behind her, and heard a siren, but says she wasn't sure it was
the real police. Betty had seen news stories about phony cops pulling people over - robbing, raping, and even killing them. She recalled the advice
from those stories that said slow down, put on your emergency flashers, and look for a populated, well-lit area to pull over. Betty says that the dash
cam video from the police cruiser that pulled her over shows she did just that.
"They had to know I was not fleeing, you don't flee at ten miles under the speed limit with your emergency flashers on," a disbelieving Betty tells INSIDE EDITION.
When another marked police car pulled next to her, she pulled over. But what Betty didn't realize was she was in for the shock of her life.
"Get out of the car, open the door, unlock the door, open the door, open the door," yelled the police officer. With a gun pointed just inches from her head, Betty says she was so frightened and nervous that she had trouble opening the door. "Do not make me break the window and pull you out of the car," the policeman continued.
Betty was terrified, and says, "He could tell I wasn't any danger to him, and I think how easily that officer could have shot me."
Betty went to trial on her charges, and was convicted of fleeing and interference with a police officer because she didn't open the car door fast enough. Believe it or not she was found not guilty of the original charge of failure to maintain a lane, the reason she was pulled over in the first place.* Betty has never before been arrested, and has never even gotten a ticket!
Betty's mug shot and fingerprints were taken. She was sentenced to ten days in jail and one year probation. Distraught and tearful, Betty says, "I will have a police record to leave my grandchildren, and maybe nobody elsen would really understand that except a grandmother."
For two years Betty and her husband, Byron, fought the charges and spent more than $25,000 on legal bills. But last month, all of her appeals were exhausted. Betty was ordered to report to jail for ten nights, though she was allowed to go home during the day.
INSIDE EDITION was with her as she left her home for the seven-mile drive to the jail, right past the spot where she was arrested.
As she made the short walk to the jail, her husband Byron says he wishes he could do more to help. "She's just a very good lady and she doesn't deserve this," Byron tells INSIDE EDITION. Byron even volunteered to stay 30 days instead of his wife, but the sheriff's department would not allow it.
With a few more steps, Betty entered the sheriff's office to start her sentence. She enters with the support of family and the words of her son to give her strength: "Mom, you don't know how proud I am of you you've fought the fight. You stood up for your rights. You will get through this but] remember, I am very proud of you."
Betty finished her sentence this week but she's not done with the legal system, she still has to complete one year of probation.

You don't expect the trolls to answer your post do you Weis? This is a total outrage!! This woman broke no law and look what happened to her. The police that arrested her should be hung by the balls and castrated.

No I'm not gonna defend the misbehavior of some (smalltown) cop who abuses his authority or mistreats someone, even an arrestee. I doubt anyone else will try to excuse his brutality either. Doesn't change the fact that DLs are Constitutional.

Shroona: You brought up the DL... I don't think the point of this thread was to debate its Constitutionality.
The cops are at the bottom of the totem pole in all this.
Think about how the prosecuter(s), judge(s), and other parties turned a blind eye to the facts.
And the worse culprit here: For $25k, why couldn't their attorney(s) get some relief? Shouldn't they be sued and put out of practice for such shoddy work?
Or is this just standard operating procedure and to be expected?
You must admit that if the system is corrupt, it is attorneys like this who enable it. They are certainly ineffective at disabling it, if indeed they are trying.

If so, there are no absolutes, and the only logical conclusion is that reality, truth, and right and wrong are determined arbitrarily on a daily basis by those with the most power, guns, and money, and the rest of us can choose to run, fight, or be their slaves.

I have to agree with Shoora...
...that DLs are Constitutional.
In the sense that in 1963 their was a new overlapping constitution the bar association put in place (not the [p]eople).
Hence, this constitution is not our's but theirs for corporate endeavors.
But the prior constitution (prior to 1963) speak's for itself in that DLs are unconstitutional.
Just a word game!!! And also another illusion!!!
1963 Constitution * DLs constitutional
1908 Constitution * DLs unconstitutional
Go figure...?

Instead they will get medals of honor for outstanding service, for bringing down a trafiic law violator.
I'll bet their bragging about it too.
Domo arigato, mr. roboto,
Mata ah-oo hima de
Domo arigato, mr. roboto,
Himitsu wo shiri tai
You're wondering who i am-machine or mannequin
With parts made in japan, i am the modren man
I've got a secret i've been hiding under my skin
My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain i.b.m.
So if you see me acting strangely, don't be surprised
I'm just a man who needed someone, and somewhere to hide
To keep me alive-just keep me alive
Somewhere to hide to keep me alive
I'm not a robot without emotions-i'm not what you see
I've come to help you with your problems, so we can be free
I'm not a hero, i'm not a saviour, forget what you know
I'm just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control
Beyond my control-we all need control
I need control-we all need control
I am the modren man, who hides behind a mask
So no one else can see my true identity
Domo arigato, mr. roboto, domo...domo
Domo arigato, mr. roboto, domo...domo
Domo arigato, mr. roboto, domo...domo
Thank you very much, mr. roboto
For doing the jobs that nobody wants to
And thank you very much, mr. roboto
For helping me escape just when i needed to
Thank you-thank you, thank you
I want to thank you, please, thank you
The problem's plain to see: too much technology
Machines to save our lives. machines dehumanize.
The time has come at last
To throw away this mask
Now everyone can see
My true identity...
I'm kilroy! kilroy! kilroy! kilroy!

I grew with a guy from the hood who is now a cop.
Long story short, he was the biggest theif, robbed many stores, "while they were closed" was busted for grand theft auto, never had a girl friend and was very antisocial.
Go figure !!
Thats enough rant from I, on to the truth, again.
The TRUTH movement, that is.

DLs are constitutional. Keep in mind what the Constitution is....a corporate charter.
