Travelling without license
i just got wind of a organization in georgia that im familiar with that is claiming to be a native american tribe and is starting to issue their own drivers licenses, tags and birth certificates. One of the leaders of the group is quoted as saying that they have a treaty with the state of georgia to do this. ( i researched this and its false). The real issue here, and i emailed them and told them, is, by saying you can issue your own LICENSE, shows the state on the surface that they dont know what they are doing and definitely dont know that you cannot be required to be licensed to do anything. So, now the state is arresting organization members and comparing them to militia groups. I told them that the way i would have done this, ( went to my memory bank and used information Ice gave me), is to use a procedure whether it be a petition or a private administrative process, to the state attorney general, state department of motor vehicle, the governor just because you can and whoever else, and told them that they had no right to require license, tag and insurance and to show the law that says that they can ignore the constitution which backs this up and Supreme Court decisions that back this up. Silence or non-rebuttal would be agreement and used as prima-face evidence in a tort claim or us title 42 claim. Then i would issue either constitutional travellors permit, certificate of automobile competancy from the tribe or anything as long as it wasnt their private copyrighted commercial terms which will trap you. The one thing ive learned from Ice, and what anybody should be telling you at this point in the game with anything, is to win BEFORE you get to court. Ice has hammered this home to me on many occasions. And damn, it makes a lot of sense. dont wait UNTIL you get into trouble and then argue with them.

Re:Travelling without license
Groups like this just make things worse for everyone, and it really hurts the people who join.
Kgod is right, the only thing the state has the constitutional authority to do regarding traveling is issue competency certificates.

hmm... so has anyone actually approached the travel issue from this angle? Actually writing and holding onto the documentation as the evidence that it is not needed?

You think so? Did we give them the authority to issue "competency" certificates? If we do that then what is to stop them from "controlling" us??
I will have to disagree with that one... I do not think the State has the right to decide if I am or am not competent to do anything.

Ice, you are probably right. Based on something I read, that is what I was lead to believe. However, I can not find the source now, so I do not have any proof.

We COULD give them the authority to do some things like impose an "age limit" or something along those lines... but it has to be done with OUR PERMISSION.
Where "commerce" is concerned... oh yeah... let them make sure someone can actually drive a big rig before they let 'em behind the wheel!!
But, again, we gotta give 'em our "permission" to do that... don't we?... or is that THE GOVERNMENTS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT (regulate commerce).
