Possible Bench Warrant - No plates

If anyone has any advice on this, I would be extremely grateful.

My wife was pulled over by a CHP on her way to Vegas in my truck for not having plates. The truck is new and registered, but I never put plates on it. He tried to flirt with her and her friend and said not to worry about it and that he wasn't going to give them a ticket. In fact, he gave them his business card as "Safe passage" so to speak.

Anyway, about a month later I received a ticket in the mail that the officer had written out for not having plates on my truck. In the signature box he wrote, "Owner's responsibility". I think I may also be past my appearance date.

Any ideas?

Refuse for Cause immediately!

The officer was probably talking about the ladies around the office and his superior heard. Now he has to start process. Terminate the process with a timely Refusal for Cause.

Don't panic. Go to the court house , and request for another appearance. Once you have a plates in your possession, on the hearing date take the plates with you for black robe to see it that you get it, only you didn't put it at the time the officer stop you.
As long as you can show the plates to black robe, the case will be dismissing.
If you have to signed any court papers, signed your autograph with "Without Prejudice UCC 1-308" at the bottom of your signature, its help a lot in court cases.

Without prejudice.
Do the "refused for cause" thing. There are some things you ought take care of to reduce problems concerning your truck.

Fulltitle: If my court date is passed, can I still write "refusal for cause" on the ticket and send it back? If not, what would be the next option?

Also, what did you mean by, "There are some things you ought take care of to reduce problems concerning your truck"?

Without Prejudice.
#1. You ideally refuse for cause within 3 days.

#2. If you registered it with the State of [?] then you might oughta get tags. [Charles might be on the money.] But hmm.

#3. Is there a note on the truck?

If you didnt register it, then you still have the MSO right?

If you just got the notice concerning the bench warrant, I'd refuse that for cause. I'd not even open it. But at that point I'd write refused for cause the document in side. On the envelop too. And write on the envelop opened in error.

Registration was active at the time of the traffic stop, however, it is expired now with no plans to renew. I do not have the MSO. I'm trolling right now on how to obtain that.

#3. Is there a note on the truck?

By note, I'm assuming you mean a lien (please correct me if I am wrong). Yes, the truck is financed through the dealership.

My biggest concern is getting pulled over with an active bench warrant and getting hauled away. Not that I'm not up for the challenge, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
