Hey, Ice....

Bet I've read the following a hundred time (from VA&code). Today it really HIT me what it meant. (Did you have something to do with this being in the law books&here in communistic-wealth of&Virginia?)

ยง 8.01-386. Judicial notice of laws.

A. Whenever, in any civil action it becomes necessary to ascertain what the law, statutory or otherwise, of this Commonwealth, of another state, of the United States, of another country, or of any political subdivision or agency of the same is, or was, at any time, the court shall take judicial notice thereof whether specially pleaded or not.

B. The court, in taking such notice, may consult any book, record, register, journal, or other official document or publication purporting to contain, state, or explain such law, and may consider any evidence or other information or argument that is offered on the subject.

Sure sounds to me like if "we" don't "point out" to them the relevant and binding statutes, cases, and so forth, it ain't gonna happen because it ain't their job to do it FOR us.

Yeah. Codes, cases, etc., I can read and understand. Been driving a truck too long, I reckon. Just gotta keep it simple, right?

hmmm... paragraph one: "... statutory or otherwise,..."

Would the "otherwise" be code?

funny how some things just sorta stick out... ya know?

Now, in paragraph two... phew!! There's a load!& But take note that you may be able to offer evidence, other information or argument on the subject of what the law means.

And I can just hear Jerseee whisperin' in my ear: "Never Argue!"
