copyrighting other names

I heard Rice Mcleod speak of copyrighting the trade names of others. The specific example he used was copyrighting the tradename of an attorney that was causing him problems. The attorney then quickly stopped bothering him.

Any thoughts on this?

I too, would like to know more about this. What basis would he have had for copyrighting the attorney's tradename?
