ANyone filed UCC FS in North Carolina Republic?

Just getting my ducks in a row, wanting to know if there are any mistakes, observations that I would benefit from knowing.

Thanks!

I'm thinking that North Carolina was one that had problems. I've read online that there are general UCC zones (made up of several states), and that any state in your zone should be good. If North Carolina doesn't take it, you should try another.

If they don't take it, you get your money back, correct?

Yes, they must return your filing fees if they refuse filing.

I would try Georgia if NC does not accept. I believe they are in the same region, and last I heard, they were accepting filings.

Hello,

I have a list of the UCC regions for anyone that wants them. As long as you file in your birth region first that is ok. You do not need to file in your birth state, only the region. If you would like a copy send me an e-mail and I will be glad to send to you. I believe you can also do a search in your browser under UCC Filing Regions and you will get them.

ANyone filed UCC FS in North Carolina Republic?

Does the filing officer state why they are rejecting it?

It's probably because, in their eyes, the form is incomplete. The STRAWMAN debtor should be identified as follows:

(box 1a - org name) DOE, JOHN JAMES, ORGANIZATION/TRADE NAME/TRADE MARK - DEBTOR

(box 1e - org type) DBA

There's more to this, of course. Ohio was one state that rejected "Redemption" filings until these changes were made. I suggest you get Barton Buhtz's material.
