How you guys make my Job Freakin' Rough

By hurling insults and charcter assassinations

This puts me in a difficult position

Here's why:

A gets an insult or sees an insult and wants B banned

B gets banned, but then sees A doing the same thing he did to get banned and then blames the moderator for being 2 faced

If you guys want someone banned from being here and are just itching for it, then you better take a good look at yourself, because I will ban you for doing the same thing that you want others banned for

Is that what you want?

If not, then stop complaining to me via email/PM, or on posts; because you are doing the same thing that the people you don't like are doing

Are you sending me complaints regarding people who are on "your side" for making unprovoked character assassinations on people ?

If not, then STFU !

I agree with Farmer

The ignore list feature has worked well for me. Weis.. is it a great board and it is the intent of the timewasters to hurl mud to inflame others to hurl back. It is nonproductive for sure and if you hurl back.. then they have won.

Just ignore 'em and learn all you can. Don't fall prey to temptation.

Let me be clear: I DO NOT WANT ANYONE BANNED. Regardless of what they say to me.

I'm a big boy. I give as well as I get. And I can ignore anyone who gets on my nerves.

3) If you personally attack essentially any non-member of suijuris.net that is also OK. (However if that person joins then you will get banned for continuing behavior that was OK in the past.)

Then there is the obvious question...

"Why are personal attacks considered in any way "bad" if they do not produce damages?"

Considering all the support for the all mighty common law it is interesting to realize that a mere personal attack is not actionable under the COMMON LAW which is nothing more than ACCEPTED rules for social interaction between free men.

All your banning for "character assignation" (whatever that means) and personal attacks actually does is suppress freedom of speech... and it is done so when the person attacked cannot even show how he was damaged.

How can a character assassination occur on a site where people post anonymously? I realize some members use their real names... however that is there choice to make themselves part of the public.

I think if the moderators spent more time deleting posts that take threads off topic and less time playing "word use police" in perfectly legal, lawful conversation than the site would function way better.

However the only moderation that occurs on this site is for cursing (still no list provided as to what exactly is not allowed) and for "character attacks" which hurt none.

I find the moderators moderate entirely the wrong subject and in fact suppress freedom via controls on otherwise protected speech had it been made in public.

But we are not in the public, we are in private. So I guess the argument is that the big bad world of freedom of speech is just to much to deal with, so lets run to a protected environment and hide out there.

Taking into account attacks on Shoonra, Lawdog and many others, I would say that virtually everyone on this forum engages in personal attacks, however it is up to the arbitrary enforcement by the moderators who gets banned. I would say this arbitrary enforcement is even more corrupt than your average traffic court.

Just my opinion however. I hope I can keep it since I did not use any "bad" words or "attack" (without damage) anyone's "anonymous character."

"Codee???"

The only thing I'd like to see disappear are the idiots who post spam to porn web sites! But that is pretty much impossible!

I would be extremely disappointed to see the likes of Lawdog or Shoonra get booted. There's a lot to be learned from their posts and they keep ya honest. If they think you're full of BS, then its up to you to do your homework and prove them wrong. This will only serve to increase your knowledge and understanding folks!

So I also vote not to ban, despite the fact that Shoonra has this fantasy about David Merrill becoming Bubba's beyotch!!!! ;-)

Makes sense to me!

I totally agree with weis.
If you can't take it, don't dish it out. Put another way, "do not do onto others that which you would not have them do onto you", period!

Those who engage in personal attacks against others, are just showing how little-minded they really are, and lose any credibility they might have had, with me anyway.

Well said Livefire.

Peace
