One can let a man/women speak/post and not listen if they don't want to. Let him post knowing none of us have used the ignore feature.

Fact is, I wish he would state plainly what it is he does believe.

Yeah, but the difference between Buck09 & B.S. is that Bucko at least makes you think & invites more reasonable debate on some issues that make sense

That's very nice of you to say. Unfortunately, someone around here doesn't like me, because they've been parroting my posts all day. Just watch - in a few minutes someone named buck08 will come in and cut and paste my post and post it under their name.

I think someone read my posts, it made them think, then they realized that what I was saying was 1. completely logical and reasonable and 2. went against every amount of conditioning doled out by their favorite patriot authors. So what happened is that they realized they had to protect their fragile system of beliefs and the only way they could do that was to harass and make me go away.

I give a lot of credit to guys like ice, weiss and anyone else who takes the time to chat with me. The ability to read something, understand it well enough to re-iterate and debate with means that they're pretty smart guys.

I think the people I offend are the ones who only read things that agree with them. Often when challenged in the place where they expect everyone to nod in agreement, they find that they don't even understand what they believe well enough to debate it and either end up cutting and pasting the same old nonsense from their favorite guru, or just go loony and try to disrupt the conversations...

Like I said to ice earlier - I believe in honest dealings all around - that's why my nickname is the same everywhere. If people can knock down my arguments based on facts, more power to them. But if all they can do is disrupt communications, what does that say about their ability to defend an argument? (It doesn't invalidate the argument, it just means that the person accepted it without ever having to think critically about it...)

Buck09 and all,

Sometimes there is no need to knock down statements with facts--experience does more damage.

As for Boynton, well one can recommend the ignore option of the website and one can practice the ignore option without ever invoking it on the site. The bottom line is, you can learn alot from those that disagree or even mouth off. It is up to the individual to accept the offer.

I agree with Akira (as usual), challenging others is not as great as challenging yourself--since that is where the truth really lies.

have fun

examine ignore function

When two or more people ignore Boynton on a Topic and he posts anyway, subsequent readers see his posts anyway. They are disjointed and it takes a long time to figure out why he is being ignored.

It is easy enough to just pass his posts by or briefly peruse (gist) them for pearls or interesting matter. The only way for the ignore function to effect the forum like you wish is for everyone to simply ignore function Boynton. Exactly what you are trying to acquire with this Topic. For that matter let's just all tell Admin we want Buck09 and Boynton expelled from the forum. And if you all don't like me expel me too. [I think Posting here simply to spoof and parrot really does deserve expulsion, by the way.]

Admin, I suggest you disable the ignore function.

Regards,

David Merrill.

Thumbs up You are very cool, Mr. Merril

Just reading his name starting with the "B" gives me a feeling of discomfort. Moreover, I have his name in "Ignore". Chances are I was the first member to use that "ignoring" technique. Nevertheless, you are making a valid point. Members can do what you are suggesting and still get some benefits from his posts.

The highly emotional can do what I do: just read his name and stop reading after that.

Regards,
