Seriously I'm very happy to see all you guys back online again and this forum is very appreciated to my concern.

I certainly felt as though quite a bit of this website should have been on my harddrive. Especially that Public Money v. Private Credit article. I keep the link to here in my links library with the audio file of it.

Thanks suijuris and also for the kind compliment, Esse!

Regards,

David Merrill.

busy server?

Sometimes in the evening especially I get a message saying the server is too busy to take a posting. Twice I have lost a lengthy time-consuming treatise that way. So I have begun blocking (highlighting) and copying the post into buffer before attempting to Submit it.

It gets me a little curious how much capacity here is at suijuris, technically. How many people need to be online for that busy signal to start up? Is it a fixed number of members or is it dependent on other sites in the same mainframe and their user numbers at the same time? Stuff like that.

Regards,

David Merrill.

there's no technical reason not to provide a tarball.

Even Wikipedia has tarballs available.

I have not been able to use the forums all weekend.

The access is very sporadic, nearly non existent.

Just wondering; what is up with that?

I recall suggesting, and only a month or so ago, when there was another breakdown, that maybe in such a situation, the Admin or whoever was responsible for this website should post a message on Usenet. The kind of message that Google Groups could find if we have it search for "suijuris" and for messages less than 24 hours old. Google Groups should be able to find it no matter what Usenet forum it's on. Some sort of announcement of a glitch, and maybe followups on the progress of repairs. This could even be posted on Usenet from a different computer and from a different city than this website, in case of a regional blackout or something.

I agree with you, shoonra. At least that will give the members some clue of what is going on with the site.
